Hosting Rubyology #73
February 8th, 2009
The OpenRain Ruby development team is hosting Rubyology episode #73, which should be available via iTunes within the next day. Primary discussion topics include..
- Unobtrusive JavaScript with Prototype and jQuery .
- Recurring problems with common CSS layouts.
After the show is released we’ll post a link to an AAC version with shownotes for those who want every last drop of Rubyology goodness! Also, you may now contribute to the Rubyology podcast by participating in supplementary discussion, sharing relevant links, giving show feedback and suggesting Ruby-related topics for future episodes by joining the new Rubyology Google Group.
This was a pretty good roundtable, but was there any Ruby discussed? I think it was all in-browser tech. (CSS, JavaScript, HTML)
We definitely gravitated around web development topics for the majority of the episode. I think in the future we need to stick to topics more central to Ruby as a language and platform. It’s good to cover web-specific topics to a certain extent, but the show is *Ruby*ology. The challenge is sticking to that vision since many rubyists (such as OpenRain) are primarily focused around Ruby for the web.
Thanks for your feedback!
Also note that there is now an official Google Group for Rubyology feedback and discussion. Myself, Chris and other content contributors will routinely monitor the group and respond to feedback.
